We are very excited that 43 bakers will be bringing over FOUR THOUSAND cupcakes to Cupcake Camp Dallas! In the spirit of the event, we are pleased to have two young teenagers with aspirations of becoming professional bakers one day. We featured Emily a few weeks ago, and we are pleased to feature Austin today. We appreciate their enthusiasm to bake for a good cause!
Are you a pro or amateur baker? I’m currently an amateur baker and only 11 years old, but I am learning and hope to be a pro one day.
What type of cupcake will you be bringing to Cupcake Camp Dallas? I will be bringing my favorite–White cake with a buttercream frosting, topped with a fondant smile.
Why do you want to be part of Cupcake Camp Dallas? I’m learning to bake from my aunt and I am excited to start my future as a baker at Cupcake Camp Dallas!
What makes a great cupcake? I like a moist, but not too moist, cake with a light and creamy frosting piped to perfection.
What’s your favorite cupcake flavor? My favorite is white cake because it is simple and elegant.
Do you have a favorite cupcake memory? I remember making my first batch of cupcakes. The frosting was a failure, but the cake was great!! My first lesson in the joys and challenges of baking.
Got a good cupcake tip? Try, try, try…taste, taste, taste. To make a good cupcake, you really have to sacrifice–by eating too much. Okay, it’s not that much of a sacrifice!
