Featured Amateur Bakers: Tricia, Megan, and Tracy

This year, our theme is “Frosting, the international language of love.” We’re all Texans now, but tell us a little bit about your heritage! Where did you grow up? Where do you live now?

Tricia: born in atlanta but have lived in texas the past 26 years…san antonio, austin, then dallas
Megan: I’ve bounced around from coast to coast, but mostly grew up in Florida, and call Texas home.
Tracy: I’m a Georgia Peach who recently moved to Arlington.

What type of cupcake will you be bringing to Cupcake Camp Dallas?
We are still working in the test kitchen, but if Tracy has any say in the matter it will be something banana-inspired.

If you were a part of Cupcake Camp Dallas last year, tell us a little bit about your experience. If not, tell us how you heard about cupcake camp.
Tricia: Cupcake camp was awesome last year! I love how anyone can participate, and see all the fun flavors people come up with. Plus, everyone there is happy because everyone loves cupcakes!
Megan: I love to see the creative combinations, but mostly I love the excuse to make cupcakes.
Tracy: I heard about Cupcake Camp last year, but couldn’t attend, it’s been a long year of waiting for my chance to see (and taste) it all first hand!

What makes a great cupcake?
Tricia: A great cupcake has to have cake and frosting that are really good on their own, but together are even better! i’m partial to fruit cupcakes but can’t really say no to any of them.
Megan:The cake is key for me, and I have no problem eating a cupcake without frosting.
Tracy: I think it’s all in the frosting. Chocolate frostings are good, but cream cheese frostings have stolen my heart.

Cupcakes are better when shared. People love you for giving them cupcakes, and you don’t feel guilty for having eaten them all.
